Here at The Rumour we have been trying to get an interview with Violet, Emily, Lacey and Blossom a.k.a new indie girl band, The Dolls, for ages. However, between their new found fame from having two number 1 hit singles and promoting their debut album around the world, there hasn’t been much time. But, eventually we managed to grab a hold of them before they jet off to Australia – well, two of them anyway…

Hey girls, how are you?

Lacey- Hi! We’re great thanks! How are you?

Emily- Yeah, we’re good, just a bit worn out from it all!

I’m alright thanks. Well, I’m not surprised your exhausted, you don’t seem to have stopped since releasing your debut single ‘Kissed’.

Emily- I know, its being crazy. We had no idea that we would ever make it this big so quickly.

What was it like reaching number one with your first ever single?

Emily- Absolutely amazing!

Lacey- We honestly couldn’t believe it. It was just so exciting that we even managed to get a record deal and then when we started writing and recording songs and eventually releasing one, we was so nervous.

Well its all seemed to pay off!

Lacey- Definitely! Its totally beyond what we ever expected.

What’s it like meeting all the celebrities? It was only last week we saw a picture of you all with Rihanna at the Brits!

Emily- Oh my! You obviously know that when you got to the Brits your going to be brushing shoulders with all the stars, but when your actually there and Rihanna comes over to meet you…I was honestly star struck.

Lacey- It was so surreal. I mean I can remember only last year I was sat at my Nanas watching it on the tele and then this year I got to actually be there!

We hear that Blossom did more then just brush shoulders with a certain celebrity…

Lacey- You mean that picture of her and Tinie Tempah? (laughs)

Yes that one! What’s the story there?

Emily- We couldn’t say, Blossom would kill us!

(Emily and Lacey both start laughing)

Well whilst we’re on the subject Emily, we heard the good news about your long term boy friend popping the question, Congrats! When did he propose?

Emily- Thanks! It was when me and the girls had just got back from playing in Ireland.

The Dolls always seem to be out promoting your debut album ‘Made for this’. Your going to Australia next?

Lacey- Yep, Violet and Blossom are already over there and me and Lacey are going to join them tomorrow. I can’t wait!

Emily- It’s been nice to be home over Christmas but I’m so excited to go to Australia.

It must be great getting to travel around but do you ever miss home?

Emily- I do but I love what we are doing so much that going away for another month doesn’t seem to long. Going to play in Australia is going to be such an experience.

Lacey- I love being on the road, it’s my favourite part! Getting to meet all our fans is just amazing.

Well all the promoting is obviously working for The Dolls. Two number one hits and one more in the top ten, how does that feel?

Emily- Incredible! To have got this far already is unreal.

Lacey- We’ve had amazing success so far but we’re still working hard and not taking it for granted. Our fans are obviously our biggest priority.

And can you tell us when the next singles going to be out and what it’s called?

Lacey- Its called ‘Misunderstood’ and it’s out at the end of March this year. It’s one that we wrote earlier last year before we got our break, but it’s my favourite.
